Guard Against Losses.
A few precautions can help reduce losses from unscrupulous businesses or people.
- ASK about their WIA membership. Get their membership ID number. Check to see if they post at WDM. Call or email us. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NON-MEMBERS. During this downturned economy with credit drying up many will turn to criminal enterprise. Don't become the victim.
- KNOW who you're dealing with. Find out. Check references. When in doubt, doubt. Call your Better Business Bureau or the one in their city.
- Seller
The only sure payment is wired funds before shipment. Setup online banking so you can verify funds in your account. Avoid direct deposit to your account through branch banks. The only non-reversible transaction is wire.
- For Cashier's checks: No C.O.D.s. Have the cashier's check sent via overnight. Verify check number and amount with issuing bank. Make sure you are talking to the bank.
- Buyer
Again, KNOW who you're dealing with. Buy from reputable companies. Be ready to fly and buy if there is any slight doubt. For real doubt, abort and buy at higher price from real companies.
All The Time, Domestic or Offshore.
References, references, references. Ask for complete name, address and phone or web site URL of references. Phone references. Check web sites. Make sure they are real businesses. Check BBB for references. Doubt. Do not accept or even think of checking a reference by EMAIL.PROTECT YOUR COMPANY, PROTECT YOURSELF - Conduct Business With WIA Members only.
